The recognized power of regionally distributed 4-color print advertising and the global promise of affordable 21st century e-commerce web publishing: Imagine what could happen if somehow these two powerful communications strategies could be seamlessly integrated and rapidly deployed within the same demanding publishing timeframes ...on a shoestring budget?
Well imagine no longer, because every two weeks New World Communications is making that happen at legendary 75+ year-old 6-store chain McLendon Hardware, Inc. based in Renton, Washington near Seattle. Every two weeks, their ad department gives us their print layout proofs, their spreadsheet and their desktop publishing files and we get crackin'! The great thing about it is that it leverages existing print advertising dollars already being spent and gives McLendon's an even bigger bang for their bucks by dramatically expanding their reach via the Internet. And co-op advertisers like the additional bang for their advertising dollars too.
And what's even more amazing is the way we are saving even more time and money publishing McLendon's 32-page/530-product ad tabloids...and developing their growing e-storefront...all at the same time. So now you can even "shop" online by clicking on products on the page, and the digital version is the same as the print format. NWC's new "Print-to-Internet" publishing strategy is now making money both ways, via the cost reduction, and now by the additional "net new" revenue now coming in from their state-of-the art, yet affordable e-commerce web site. And you'd be amazed by what people are buying: wood pellets for the winter by the ton, entire higher ticket cedar building shed kits. The future looks very bright for McLendons.

If as a Dot.com company in 2002 you remain profitable and growing each and every year, "running lean and mean", and with even with some client successes you can tout, you must be doing something right. So recently in our fifth year, and looking towards the future, we've been focusing our attention right on that, "e-business success" and how to achieve it...so we could bottle it and sell it to someone else...so here it goes!
In looking back as well as forward, the best that we can come up with is that somehow along the way both New World Communications and customers who have hung right in there with us have learned something right along the way, and now it's starting to pay off, even while other dot.com-ers both large and small continue to drop all around us like so many dead flies.
So how is that we are still in great shape and stand poised to grow even more, even during these challenging economic times? We think the key to success has to do with learning how to work S.M.A.R.T. rather than dumb, and now we can even break that down: Get Specific about the opportunities and challenges, and aim for Measurable results. Consider all Achievable possibilities, but be Realistic about what to put on your plate. And above all, "plan the work" and "work the plan" over Time for progressively realized success!
So now after figuring it out for ourselves, we're starting to package it for others, in the form of our own quality-controlled, project-managed approach, that has recently helped us get focused on our own new business plan and expanded set of tailor-fit services the next five years, and our new free S.M.A.R.T. Way planner is already one positive outcome that we happy to share with you. |

NWC: Making the Manufacturer-Distributor-Retailer-Connection
|
|
Look out world. New World Communications is now developing major enterprise-wide, yet still cost-effective solutions for the ENTIRE value chain: That's manufacturers, distributors and retailers - involving "next-phase" 21st century marketing communications strategies and an entire new "suite" of tailor-fit technology-based services. We promise that after you see where we are going with this, you'll never want to go back to doing business the same way again.
Basically what we are doing is using our own S.M.A.R.T. Way project-managed and quality-controlled approach to afford manufacturers, distributors, and retailers new ways to do business "quicker, cheaper, and better" than ever before, both in their "brick-and-mortar" business operations and well as in their newly emerging online worlds. We are currently doing some mission-critical problem-solving and are "making connections" with key people and key technology providers in key areas: Point-of-Sale, Inventory Management, Wholesale e-Catalog Development, and Retail e-Storefront Development..and let's be sure not to leave out 21st century e-marketing communications, enterprise-wide customer service, staff development, and project management services from New World Communications that make it all come together while we are at it!

Virtual Reality Anyone?: Seizing the Broadband Opportunity |
|
 |
"Virtual Reality" Anyone? You've heard it talked about a few years ago when nobody had the bandwidth...but what about NOW when even consumers are ahead of the pack with low cost, high speed broadband connections? At New World Communications, we think the next big opportunity is in designing and deploying virtual reality applications in three mission-critical areas: 1) e-commerce, 2) education and training, and 3) product/service television - and we haven't been standing still waiting for it. Now that the broadband opportunity is upon us, it's time once again to add newer and richer meaning to the words "virtual reality" and we're some of the ones doing it.

NWC S.M.A.R.T. Planning: RX for Getting it Right

Would you REALLY hand over the keys to your hard-earned business to a "wet-behind-the ears" whiz kid who says he can "make HTML pages and Flash animations" and even give you a "shopping cart" but with no real-world business savvy or experience, and actually have him RUN your e-BUSINESS? Or how about trying to build a house with no plans and with the only thing on your mind first being the color of the wallpaper and a snazzy PhotoShop rendering of your business logo? Or how about building your web site, e-storefront, or e-catalog just like Kevin Costner in the movie, "Field of Dreams" did..."Just build it and they'll come?". What do you think might happen? Hmmm what's wrong with this scenario? Does it sound all too familiar?
In our five years of successfully addressing e-business opportunities and challenges, we've seen it all, business decision-makers making some awful mistakes and we've seen a lot of "road-kill" because of it: lack-luster web sites, e-stores, and e-catalogs that just did not "make the mark." Their development was pitifully slow, their actual bottom-line costs ended up being far more costly than anticipated, their quality usually sucked, and business management policies and procedures, and ways to promote and further develop these web "ventures" were literally non-existent.
So now we're doing something about it by helping businesses both large and small work smarter. We think the Rx for getting it right has to do investing in some good 'ole "tried-and-true" front-end business and marketing communications planning, but within the context of a now 21st century world.
|
This means that we can help you use both young and older talent, and technology "bells-and-whistles" to build the e-venture of your dreams, but if you want to work cost-effectively, and if you have to live in that house and want to actually experience e-business success, you have to plan for it first. That's where our new "E-Commerce Success: Do It the S.M.A.R.T. Way" planner comes in. It's free and its our way of helping move forward. Check it out with our other support and planning resources.
