Making the "Physical World/Virtual World" Real-time Face-to-Face Connection

"Virtualizing" a physical world room creates some "big-reach", world-class business & learning communications possibilities

(Seattle, WA -1/28/05) - At a recent meeting of Seattle Chapter of the Black Data Professional Association, members "made the physical world/virtual world meeting connection" taking advantage of the phenomenal Marratech Work Environment, a "state-of-the-art" Internet-based face-to-face, video and voice over IP Internet conferencing, telework, and distance learning solution to move the organization's business significantly forward.

The occasion was a special technical presentation about latest developments in RFID technology delivered remotely by fellow BPDA member Dr. Paul Jackson of Boeing Phantomworks who managed to "be there" virtually from the comfort of his Palmdale, California hotel room chair.

The "physical world/virtual world" meeting room solution consisted of a Windows laptop computer running free and loadable Marratech Pro client software configured with a LCD projector, webcam, special conferencing mic and amplified speakers, and participants met on a licensed Marratech E-Meeting Portal.

There wasn't even Internet in the room so we had to "sniff out" and use Starbuck's-based T-Mobile Wi-Fi hot spot more than 300 meters away. Dr. Jackson presented remotely from his Marratech-enabled laptop more than 1000 miles away. For more information and the whole story - CLICK HERE
